FUELING PROCEDURE
Recommended Fuel
Use unleaded gasoline or oxygenat-
ed fuel containing a maximum total of
10% of ethanol or methanol or both.
The gasoline used must have the fol-
lowing recommended octane rating.
NOTICE
Never experiment with
other fuels or fuel ratios. The use of
unrecommended fuel can result in
boat performance deterioration and
damage to critical parts in the fuel
system and engine components.

Fueling Procedure
Be very careful when fueling and ad-
here to the fueling procedures de-
scribed below in this Operator's Guide
and those given to you by the marina.
Know the capacity of the fuel tank.
Avoid fueling at night except under
well-lit conditions. Gas spills are not
noticeable in the dark. Do not carry
spare fuel or flammable liquids in any of
the storage or engine compartments.
WARNING
Follow these safe boating fueling
instructions explicitly.
1. Turn off engines.
2. Do not allow anyone to remain in or
on the boat.
3. Tie boat securely to the fueling pier.
4. Use bilge blower for a minimum of
5 minutes.
5. Turn off bilge blower, bilge pump
and any other devices that could
produce a spark.
6. Ensure that the engine compart-
ment is free of gasoline vapors, and
inspect fuel lines for leaks and hose
deterioration.
WARNING
If any leaks or gasoline odors are
present, do not start the engine.

7. Ensure engine cover is closed to
prevent fumes from entering the
engine compartment.
8. Have a fire extinguisher close at
hand.
9. Using the fuel tank cap key, un-
screw the cap counterclockwise
and remove it.
