The set is technically ready for dynamic
radio-navigation. The following premises
are required for making this function
available:
– The navigation CD must include the
necessary information to carry out the
dynamic radio-navigation.
– TMC stations’ reception must be possi-
ble.

Dynamic radio-navigation adapts the cal-
culated
route
to
whatever
traffic
announcements are being received.
The traffic announcements are broadcast
inaudibly by a TMC
1)
(Traffic Message
Channel) channel from several radio sta-
tions apart from their normal radio pro-
grammes.
The navigation system receives these
data through a TMC tuner and evaluates
them. If it receives a relevant message
concerning the calculated route, it recal-
culates it again automatically.
The traffic announcements are shown on
the map display by using symbols

Traffic Jam
Total blocking
The referred section is shown up on the
map display with a blue dotted line.
For you to profit from the dynamic naviga-
tion you must receive a radio station
broadcasting traffic announcements in
TMC

. The TMC tuner selects a TMC sta-
tion automatically. But you can also
choose any other manually.
