Then insert the battery into the battery case and attach them to the intended battery clip (
see
Figure 5
). Note the positive and negative poles!
After inserting and connecting the battery, screw the housing by turning clockwise to the mounting
base.
Note
: The smoke alarm detector features a mounting lock. This prevented that the housing of the
smoke alarm detector can be screwed without battery to the mounting base. Always make sure that
the battery is inserted correctly!
4. Startup
4.1 Activation and function control of the smoke alarm detector
The SET button is used to check the function of the smoke alarm detector. After pressing the key a
very loud alarm will sound! Keep the smoke alarm detector at least an arm's length away from
your body while pressing the SET button. The activation of the alarm takes place after
approximately 4 seconds of pressing the SET button. Afterwards the LED starts flashing and the
alarm sounds. In this case the function of the electronics, the alarm device of the smoke alarm
detector and the battery is checked. After releasing the SET button, the alarm will turn off
automatically.
Attention:
Test the smoke alarm detector weekly to its function by pressing the SET button. It
even beeps once and the alarm stops automatically after releasing the SET button. Test the alarm
after every battery replacement!
