Interference
The Department of Trade and Industry runs a Radio Investigation Service to help people improve
the reception of television programmes if they are being spoilt by interference. Ask at a main post
office for the booklet ‘How to improve television and radio reception’.
Appendix 2
Setting the EURO AV2/ DECODER socket to work with a decoder.
1 Press the MENU button to display the main menu.
2 Press the PR- button to move the pointer to ‘VCR setup’.
3 Press the OK button to see the video recorder set-up menu.
4 Press the PR- button to move the pointer to ‘2nd scart set’. The pointer will not stop at ‘2nd scart
set’ if AV2 is being used for the programme you are watching, or AV2 is used in one of the timer
programmes.
5 Press the OK button to get the second scart socket set-up menu.
6 Press the PR- button to move the pointer to ‘Decoder(Pay TV)’.
7 Press the OK button to confirm the change and go back to the main menu.
8 Press the MENU button to turn off the main menu display.
9 Connect the decoder to the EURO AV2/ DECODER socket. Please read the decoder instructions.
Appendix 1
Another way of changing the modulator channel
This method steps through the control menus, but you will only see the menus if you have a
reasonably clear television picture from the video recorder.
• Press the MENU button once, to get the main menu.
• Press the PR- button twice.
• Press the OK button. This selects the ‘VCR setup’ menu.
• Press the PR- button once.
• Press the OK button. This selects the ‘RF output set’ menu.
• Change the modulator channel number by pressing the number buttons 0 to 9 on the remote
control. You must choose a number from 21 to 69. The new modulator channel number will
show on the display.
• Press the OK button on the remote control to memorise the new modulator channel number.
• Tune the television in the UHF waveband until you see a picture like the ‘RF output set’,
menu, and memorise it under the video programme number. (Please read the instruction book
for your television to see how to do this.)
• Check all the programme numbers that are tuned to the broadcast stations, your video
recorder and any other equipment to check there is no picture interference.
