5 Operation
The control panel allows function selection and shows the distiller alarms status.
Once the unit is plugged in, put it on, by pressing the main switch. The unit goes
to stand by status (ON).
Note
: If main switch is pushed consecutively with an interval of less than 3 sec
-
onds, the unit could start in abnormal mode. So wait few seconds to restart the
unit.
5.1 Insert/ Remove the sample tube
• Insert the tube starting to introduce the PTFE tube.
• Push down the fixing lever.
• Close the safety door.
Proceed similar to remove the sample tube.
5.2
Adding NaOH
There are two modes for the NaOH adding function:
Note
: The NaOH adding function is inhibited when there is no sample tube.
Automatic addition
On this mode, the NaOH volume is pre-selected before to start distillation.
The pre-selected volume will be dispensed, automatically, few seconds after distil
-
lation starts.
With the unit on stand-by status (Not distilling) keep pressed the «NaOH» key until
it makes a different number of beeps that indicates the NaOH volume to be added.
Release the key once you hear the number of beeps that you want.
Approximately each beep means 25ml.
Note:
The NaOH volume set, is stored, only, until the unit is ON.
Volume must be set again if the unit is switched off.
Note:
The NaOH volume is set by “working time” of dosing pump. This means
that the volume is only approximated, and could change with temperature, NaOH
concentration and pump life time.
Moment indicator : «ON»
NaOH preselection
CAUTION
Wear Anti-acid, Anti-thermal gloves.
The white PTFE tube could have rest of Sodium hydroxide or Acid.
The sample tube’s temperature is over 60ºC after distillation.
