When the
phase displacement get to ±99° (or ±359° with milliseconds notation), the value of advance/delay is
stopped for every speeds above of current value.
Example n° 1: suppose you want to advance some cams in group 9÷12 of 12° when the encoder
spins at 700 RPM. Once you have pressed
FN + 8
, select the advance no.
3
then specify that it's an
advance (press
0
). Now, APX 700 provides automatically to generate the straight line with reference to
the values of speed and advance/delay settings by keyboard through the next algebrical expression:
Value
RPM X
N
=
⋅
where:
RPM
represents the range of values of speed included between 0 and the
value setting by keyboard and it is manage automatically by instrument;
N
value setting by keyboard
X
number of degrees of advance/delay setting by keyboard to get at
N
RPM.
The right value to set is
(RPM· 12) / 700
(where the absolute value of
X
is intended because you
have already specified before if it is an advance or a delay). For example, with
RPM =
250 RPM, the
advance value is about 4°.
Example n° 2: now, suppose you want to advance the same cams of 100 ms.
Once you have pressed
FN + 8
, select the advance no.
3
, then specify that it's an advance (press
0
). Now, APX 700 provides automatically to generate the straight line with reference to the values of
speed and advance/delay settings by keyboard.
For the conversion ms/degrees (at a determined speed) of the selected advance, is necessary to
use the next expression:
Value
RPM
166.6
=
⋅
ms
where:
