4. CONFIGURATION INTERFACE
4.1 FOREWORD
Connecting a PC or a terminal with RS232 interface to the "Terminal" port, we can execute,
through a series of text commands defined as Command Line Interface (CLI), all the configuration
and maintenance operations of Alyseo 106. Once connected, a welcome page appears asking for
the password. For the connection settings, see 4.5.
Using any terminal emulation program (e.g. hyperterminal on Windows operating system), it is
possible to access to the command shell, which requires two passwords. The first one is for
normal users (“user”) and the second one is for users enabled to configure the Alyseo 106
(“superuser”). The pre-stored password is “selta” for both ones, but they can be modified for the
users in priviliged modality.
By means of CLI, the device can be configured, the firware can be updated, it is possible to
access to diagnostics service and to monitor the operation.
The available commands are organized in a hierarchical “tree” structure, which manages the
parameters according to functional groups.
Furthermore, CLI is provided with a help on-line that gives indications on the commands available
in a certain part and on the values, which the configurable parameters can assume.
In the following, the (‘?’) symbol means the typing of the question mark without echo on the
screen.
