BEFORE FIRST USE

1.  Take the rice cooker and its accessories out of the packaging

materials.

2.  Wash the removable bowl

A15

, measuring cup

A11

, spoon

A13

and ladle

A12

in warm water with kitchen detergent. Then rinse all

these parts under clean running water and dry them thoroughly.

USING THE RICE COOKER

1.  Place the removable bowl

A15

 on the kitchen countertop or

another even, stable surface. Measure the required amount of

rice using the supplied measuring cup

A11

Attention:

In a single batch, it is possible to cook a maximum of 8 level

measuring cups of rice.

Transfer the rice to a strainer and rinse through using running

water. Transfer the rinsed rice into the removable bowl

A15

 and

evenly spread it out from the centre towards the sides of the

bowl. Add the appropriate amount of cold water. You will find

the recommended rice: water dosage ratio in the table below.

Note:

Two measuring scales are marked on the measuring

cup

A11

. One measuring scale is used for measuring rice

(¼, ½, ¾ cup or one level measuring cup) and the second

scale is used for measuring water (40 to 160 ml).

A single level measuring cup is equivalent to 140 g of loose

uncooked rice.

Attention:

The rice to water ratio can be modified as necessary. However,

make sure that the water level does not exceed the 1.8 L

water level mark on the inside wall of the removable bowl

A15

. Otherwise boiling water could spray out during the

cooking process.

2.  Place the bowl

A15

 into the outer pot

A5

 and close the lid

A4

Make sure that bowl

A14

is correctly seated in the outer pot

A5

3.  Insert the power plug into an electrical power socket. Slide the

power switch

A7

 to position I (turned on).

4.  After inserting the power cord into the power socket, the

KEEP WARM (maintaining temperature) mode will automatically

be activated. This is indicated by the KEEP WARM

A9

 indicator

being lit. To start the COOK (cook rice) mode, slide the switch

A10

 downwards. The COOK indicator

A8

will turn on. Do not slide

switch

A10

back to the upper position while the rice is cooking.

5.  The rice will be cooked in approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards,

the rice cooker will automatically switch to the KEEP WARM

(maintaining temperature) mode. The KEEP WARM (maintaining

temperature) mode can keep the rice warm for up to 6 hours.

After this, the rice cooker will turn off.

Tip:

The rice will taste better if you allow it to finish cooking in

the KEEP WARM (maintaining temperature) mode for 10 to

20 minutes.

Note:

To maintain flavour, we recommend that you do not keep the

rice warm for longer than 3 hours. Otherwise it may dry out.

6.  If you wish to serve the rice, carefully open the lid by pressing the

open lid button

A3

. Gently stir the rice using the spoon

A13

 and

serve.

Attention:

To avoid damaging the non-stick surface of the removable

bowl

A15

, do not use metal kitchen utensils to stir the rice.

7.  Another batch of rice can be cooked after several minutes as soon

as it is possible to start the COOK (cook rice) mode.

Note:

Do not attempt to hold down the switch

A10

 in the lower

position.

8.  When you have finished using the appliance, slide the power

switch

A7

to position 0 (turned off). If you will not be using the

rice cooker, disconnect it from the power socket.

STEAM COOKING

 ■

The rice cooker also has a steam cooking function. Put a sufficient

amount of water (0.5 l or more) into the bowl. Place vegetables

or other foods into the steamer. Then proceed in the same way

as when cooking rice.

 ■

When all the water has been evaporated, the rice cooker will switch

to the Keep Warm mode. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the

status of the food and water.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

 ■

Check that the power cord is disconnected from the power socket

and allow the rice cooker to cool down. Take the removable bowl

A15

 out of the outer pot

A5

 and remove any remaining rice.
