CMP Surveys
If using a measuring tape to position the transmitting and receiving antennas for the survey,
layout the measuring tape on the ground and set the mid-point of the survey to a nice, round
number on the measuring tape, for example 20.0m. Then set the
Start Offset Position
parameter on the DVL to this value. The user interface automatically calculates the next
position for the transmitting and receiving antennas on the tape measure. This makes CMP
data collection easier and reduces errors in the field (see
Another consideration for positioning a CMP survey is, you may want the survey centered at a
position that corresponds to a position along a previously collected reflection survey line. If so,
set the
Start Offset Position
to that value, for example, 175.5m.
WARR Surveys
If using a measuring tape to position the transmitting and receiving antennas for the survey,
layout the measuring tape on the ground and set the start position to a nice, round number on
the measuring tape, for example 20.0m. If the
Start Offset Position
parameter is set to this
value, the user interface automatically calculates the next position for the receiving antennas on
the tape measure. This makes WARR data collection easier and reduces errors in the field (see
11).
Another consideration for positioning a WARR survey is, you may want the survey to start at a
position that corresponds to a position along a reflection survey line. If so, set the Start Offset
Position to that value, for example, 175.5m.
