plus
). We recommend, however, to replace both sets at
the same time (2 pcs. item No. 06732). We recommend
to replace all membranes at the same time for pumps
with several outlets.
Attention! By all means pull mains plug before
opening the air pump!
Membrane replacement:
The membranes can be replaced quickly and easily. You
can remove the upper part of the casing after you have re-
moved the 4 casing screws at the bottom of the air pump.
For sera air 110 plus (fig. 7):
The membrane can be pulled out of the holder bracket
upwards as an entire block. Remove the black plate
from the membrane and place it on the same opening
of the replacement membrane. The pump will not func-
tion without this plate! Therefore, the plate must not be
disposed of along with the old membrane. Then push
the new membrane back into the holder bracket. The
hose connector must fit exactly into the cut-outs in the
casing parts and must not be pushed in with force.
Then screw the casing back together.
For sera air 275 R plus / 550 R plus (fig. 8.1 – 8.2):
First loosen the 3 holder screws of the double mem-
brane/s (fig. 8.1). The membranes can be taken out up-
wards after having removed the screws and the small
white holder(s) (fig. 8.2). The air hoses on the mem-
branes now must be disconnected from the connection
pieces, the membrane blocks are then free and can be
replaced with new ones. The hoses are first pushed
back onto the connection pieces and then fastened
with the screws and the holder(s). Then screw the cas-
ing back together.
Advice for minimizing noise:
The
sera air plus
air pump was developed according to
newest physical findings, and is equipped with a partic-
ularly thick walled and sound-absorbing casing.
However, operation noise may be audible even under
optimal conditions, especially in quiet rooms (sleeping
rooms) at night.
Every air pump produces audible vibration and hum
noise. However, these are minimized by providing
some counter pressure.
Therefore also use a safety
valve. A hose clamp or a regulator valve that reduce air-
flow will considerably reduce the noise level.
You can roughly adjust the air output by a hose clamp
also with adjustable pumps. The counter pressure pro-
vided that way will also increase the life span of the
membranes.
Unsuitable locations often cause higher noise levels due
to resonance vibrations. In that case place the mem-
brane pump in another location.
Technical Data:
AC 220 – 240 V ~ 50/60 Hz
Due to technical reasons the electronic
adjustment
range
of the
sera air R plus
air pumps does not begin
from < 1 l/h (0.3 US gal./h) but from considerably high-
er flow rates.
Within this context, the
produced pressure
describes
the water depth into which the
sera air plus
(free hose
end provided!) pumps down [approx. 1.2 m (4 ft.)]. Hose
length far above 3 m (10 ft.), non-return valves, air-
stones, Y connectors etc. may considerably reduce this
performance. Damaged, worn-out or dirty membranes
will also decrease performance.
Connecting two or more pump outlets via the supplied
Y connectors (applies only for
sera air 275 R plus
and
550 R plus
, fig. 9) may considerably increase the
achieved pump depth.
