13.2.2 4Q operation with integrated brake coil
• In 4Q operation, the brake coil can be used as a braking resistor.
• The brake coil (without brake disk) is also integrated in motors without a brake.
• Brake voltage is generated internally within the unit, which means it is mains-
independent.
• 4Q operation with only the integrated brake coil is recommended for applications with
very small amounts of regenerative energy.
• If the amount of regenerated energy is too high for the application, you can use an
additional internal or external braking resistor.
