Cable length

The permitted total cable length depends on the baud rate setting of the SBus (
P884
):
– 125 kBd: 500 m (1640 ft)
– 250 kBd: 250 m (820 ft)
– 500 kBd: 100 m (328 ft)
– 1000 kBd: 25 m (82 ft)

You must use shielded cables.
INFORMATION
• Terminating resistor: Switch on the system bus terminating resistor (S1 = ON) at
the start and end of the system bus connection. Switch off the terminating resistor
on the units in between (S1 = OFF).
• Certain units have a permanently integrated terminating resistor that cannot be
switched off. This is the case for UFx and DFx/UOH. These gateways form the end
of the physical line.
Do not connect any external terminating resistors.
