7. MAINTENANCE - FUEL FILTER & AIR COOLING SYSTEM
• When the engine runs short of fuel supply, check the fuel
cap and the fuel filter for a blockage.
• This engine is air-cooled. Dust clogging between the
inlet port of the cooling air and cylinder fins will cause
overheating of the engine. Periodically check and clean
the cylinder fins after removing the air cleaner and the
cylinder cover.

7. MAINTENANCE - SPARK PLUG
• Note that using any spark plug other than those
designated may result in the engine failing to operate
properly or engine overheating causing damage.
• To install the spark plug, first turn the plug until it is finger
tight, then tighten it a quarter turn more with a socket
wrench.
• Starting failure and misfiring are often caused by a dirty
spark plug. Clean the spark plug and check that the plug
gap is correct.
