Inspection of Brake Fluid Level
Insufficient brake fluid may allow air to enter the brake system, possibly causing the brakes to become
ineffective. Before riding, check that the brake fluid is above the minimum level and fill when
necessary.
Observe These Precautions:
1.
When checking the brake fluid level, make sure the top of the master cylinder is level.
2.
Use only the designated brake fluid. Otherwise, the rubber seals may deteriorate, causing
leakage and poor brake performance.
Recommended Brake Fluid
: DOT3
3.
Refill with the same type of brake fluid. Mixing fluid may result is a harmful chemical
reaction and may lead to poor brake performance.
4.
Be careful that water does not enter, which may result in vapor lock.
5.
Brake fluid may deteriorate painted surfaces and plastic parts. Always clean up spilled
fluids immediately.
6.
If your brake level goes down, have a dealer inspect your unit for possible causes.
