Creating a Custom Cover Page
You can use the facilities in your Sharp Colour Multifunction Inter-
face software to create your own custom cover page. A Custom
Cover Page merges an .ALA (image) file with the standard cover
page information described earlier, and the cover page information
you enter when you send the fax. To understand how to create
custom cover pages, you will need to understand how to create an
.ALA file. Refer to the Scanning Documents chapter for information
on creating .ALA files.
A Custom Cover Page includes your own customized format, perhaps
containing your logo, signature or other images. A Custom Cover
Page replaces the standard banner information with the contents of an
.ALA file you create that contains this customized image. In addition,
if you leave a standard information field blank, you can use that space
for your customized format. The Custom Cover Page file is merged
with the standard cover page information and facsimile specific
information at the time the fax is transmitted.
You may create a single-page .ALA file of the information you want
included on your personal fax cover page in the following ways:
Using the Scan application, scan and save a single-page .ALA
file.
or
From Viewer application, open .BMP, .TIF, .PCX, or .DCX file
and save as an .ALA file.
The .ALA file you create will be the file that appears in the File
Name field of the Cover Page group on the Setup Cover Page
tab.
Select the Apply button to make the changes to your Cover Page
settings take effect.
