Establishing Dialling Properties
To setup or modify the dialling preferences, select the Dialling
Properties button. The Dialling Properties dialog box appears.
Please note that in order for your system to dial fax or voice
calls successfully from any application, the appropriate
information must be entered in this Dialling Properties dialog
box.
The Where I am: group of the Dialling Properties dialog box
displays the locations that are currently set up on your system
in the I am dialling from: list box. To set up an additional location,
click the New button.
Enter the area code for the selected location in The area code is:
field. (Note: If you are in a country other than the United States,
type your city code, but do not include the leading 0. For
example, if your city code is 071, just type 71.)
The I am in: list box displays the Country Code of the selected
location.
The How I dial from this location group enables you to setup
access codes for long distance and local dialing, credit card
dialing, and to disable or enable the call waiting feature.
If the selected location requires an access code be dialed for
local calls, type the number(s) required to access an outside line
for local calls in the first edit field. In the second edit field, type
the number(s) required to access an outside line for long
distance calls. In many cases, these two numbers will be the
same. If you do not have to dial any numbers to access an
outside line, leave both spaces blank.
If you are using a calling card for your calls, select the Dial
using Calling Card check box. To change the calling card
provided, click the Change button to display a list of available
providers in the Change Calling Card dialog box. If your
provider requires a calling card number, the Calling Card
number field will be enabled so you may enter the number in the
available edit field. To add a new calling card provider select
