Sending Faxes and E-mail Messages
Your Sharp Colour Multifunction Interface Address Book
may be accessed from within the Sharp Fax/Image E-mail
application, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook mail application, or a
Windows application. The Default Send Address established in
your address book will be used when sending faxes or e-mail
messages from any of the above applications. Fax attachments
will be sent as a fax providing the attachment's application is
OLE 2.0 compatible. E-mail attachments are transmitted in the
associated file format selected in the Colour Multifunction
Interface Address Book. If the e-mail attachment is not an
.ALA file, it will be sent in the application's native file format.
If you are sending a fax or e-mail message from the Colour
Multifunction Interface Viewer application the file will be sent
as a fax or e-mail attachment in the associated image file format
selected in the Colour Multifunction Interface Address Book.
Using Internet based e-mail systems with simple MAPI
Many Internet based e-mail systems such as Netscape Navigator,
Microsoft Outlook Express and Eudora Pro 4.0 only support a
single, local address book and you will be unable to access the Sharp
Colour Multifunction Interface address book from these mail
packages.
If your internet e-mail package is configured to use simple MAPI
(Messaging Application Programming Interface), but does not have
Microsoft Exchange/Outlook installed, the following will apply:
The unified Inbox will not be supported; all e-mail messages will
be received in the Internet e-mail inbox, and faxes will be
handled in the Sharp Message Center.
