Scanning Documents
Monochrome Contrast setting:
Select Image Adjust and choose Monochrome Contrast
from the cascading menu. (Note: You must have Type of
Scan set to Monochrome.) This setting will enable you to
increase or decrease the luminance of a scanned black and
white image. The higher settings increase the range of
luminance while the lower settings reduce the range.
In the Set Monochrome Contrast dialog box, select the
appropriate setting (Dark, Normal, or Light).
Select OK
Calibration
Proper calibration will optimize the colour-capturing capabili-
ties of your scanner. Calibration should be done prior to
your initial use of the scanner, and occasionally thereafter.
Make sure the scanner glass is clean so that your documents
can be read correctly.
Follow the on-screen prompts to properly complete this
process.
Closing the Viewer window
Part of displaying documents and images is closing them when you
are finished. Simply choose Close from the File menu to close the
viewing window. If you haven't previously saved your file or if you
have made changes to it you will be prompted to save it before
closing. (Note: Refer to the Viewer chapter for further informa-
tion about saving Viewer files.)
