Image File Formats
E-mail information can be packaged in various file formats, including
HTML format, which can be opened in virtually all web browser
applications. Default formats can be designated for each E-mail
account in the Address Book. Supported E-mail file formats include:
.ALA; .BMP; .TIFF; .DCX ; .PCX; .JPEG and HTML.
ALA Files
ALA files are compressed, multiple page files that are created
and used by your system. They may be black and white, 16
colour or 16.7 million colour images. The images are a maximum
of 8.5 inches wide and a maximum of 14 inches long. The
resolution can be either 200x200 dpi, 300x300 dpi, or 400x400
dpi. The files have been optimized so they can be rapidly
scanned, located, displayed, printed and faxed by your system
and occupy a minimum amount of disk space. In addition, they
can be converted at a later time to other file formats.
The recipient should have the Alacrity Viewer to view .ALA
files completely. The recipient may be able to view an .ALA file
without the Viewer application, however any annotations con-
tained within the .ALA file will not be visible.
BMP Files
Universally accepted format for all Windows users and supports
only single page files.
