Viewing documents
Arrange icons
When multiple files have been minimized to icons, Arrange
icons can be used to line them up horizontally in the Viewer
window.

Open files will be listed at the bottom of the Window menu.
Selecting any file from the list will make that file the active
window.
Displaying Document Images in the Viewer
You may display documents and images within the Viewer applica-
tion by creating a new file, opening an existing file, or scanning an
image directly into Viewer and saving it as an image file.
The Viewer will open and display any file saved in a compatible file
format. Once a file has been opened in the Viewer, you may manipu-
late and edit the image
Image File Formats
The Viewer applications supports a number of image file formats.
Files saved in any of the following formats can be opened, viewed
and edited.
ALA Files
ALA files are compressed, multiple page, bitmap files created
and used by your system. ALA files may be black and white, 16
colour or 16.7 million colour images. These files have been
optimized so they can be rapidly scanned, located, displayed,
printed and faxed by your system while occupying a minimum
amount of disk space.
TIFF Files
TIFF stands for Tagged Information Field Format. A flexible
bitmap file format, it is designed to allow the interchange be-
tween a wide variety of devices. Supporting numerous resolu-
tions, image sizes and compression schemes, TIFF files can be
black and white, gray scale and colour. Because most applications
