If you do not remember the name, use the Browse... button to
locate the file.
Select the Link checkbox.
If you want the linked information to be displayed as the
application's icon, check the Display As Icon box. Select the
CHANGE ICON button to use a different icon to display the
object or to change the icon's label.
Select the OK pushbutton.
The embedded object will be pasted in the upper left-hand corner of
the window. If desired, you can change the position and size of the
embedded object.
Note: Viewer creates links as automatic links by default. Viewer
updates automatic links each time you open the image and each
time the data in the source file changes. Manual links are only
updated when you select the UPDATE NOW button in the Links
dialog box.
Creating a link to an object using the Windows Clipboard
You can link an object to a selection from a file created in another
application. To link a selection from an existing file:
Switch to the source application, and then open the file contain-
ing the information you want to link.
Select the information you want to link.
Choose Copy from the Edit menu in the application where the
selection was created.
Switch to Viewer, and then do one of the following.
Choose Paste Special from the Edit menu.
Select the Paste Link radio button.
In the As list box, select the way that you want the linked
object displayed. The Result box will display additional
information about the linked object.
