Saving OCR Results to File
You can OCR a selected area of your file, the current page, any
range of pages or the entire file and save the results of your OCR
operation in a file format compatible with most popular word pro-
cessing, spreadsheet and database programs.
In the Viewer application, from the Tools menu, select the OCR to
File command or display the Thumbnails view to select the thumb-
nails of the pages that you would like to OCR. Drag the thumbnails
over the OCR
button on the Action Bar. Either method will
enable the OCR Copy to File dialog box.
(Note: If you want to review the results of the OCR operation
before they are saved as a file, the application associated with
the selected file format must be installed on the system. The
Review Results Option from the Properties dialog box must be
selected as described earlier.)
To save your results as a file:
(Note: If you are converting a selected area, define the area
you want to convert as described earlier.)
From the Tools menu, select OCR to File; or
Display Thumbnails view (see Viewing Documents chapter)
and select the thumbnails of the pages that you would like to
convert. Drag the selected thumbnails over the OCR button on
the Action Bar.
The Save As dialog box opens.
In the OCR group, select the appropriate radio button for the
information you want to convert.
To convert a selected area, choose the Selected Area
option. If an area on your image is not defined, this option
will be grayed. (This option is not available if thumbnails
are used.)
