Dialling and transmission
Once you have loaded the document and made any desired contrast/resolution
settings, you are ready to dial the number of the receiving fax machine and transmit
the document. There are several ways of dialling, and you can select the one which
best suits your needs.
Normal Dialling
With Normal Dialing, you press the SPEAKER key and dial using the numeric keys.
You will be able to hear the line and fax tones from the other machine through the
speaker, allowing you to confirm the reponse of the other machine. Note that if a
person answers your call vocally, you will not be able to use an extension phone
connected to the same line to speak with them.
You can also pick up the handset of an extension phone connected to the same line
and dial using the extension phone (do not press the SPEAKER key on the fax). In
this case, you will be able to speak with the other party if they answer personally.
When you are ready to send a fax, press the START key on the fax machine and then
hang up the extension phone.
♦
When using Normal Dialling, you do not have to load the document before dialling.
