1st Sign in

Before you connect for the first time, you must set 
where you want to go using OTA or manually. For 
details on how to set this, refer to “Messenger Settings” 
on page 59.

Enter your screen name and press

Your phone is connected to Instant Messenger 
server.

Select one of the following methods, to enter 
contact members.
“Enter Phone Number”: 
Enters the contact member’s phone numbers.
“Enter Messenger ID”: 
Enters the contact member’s messenger ID.
Entry in your Contacts List: 
Selects contact members from your Contacts List.

3.

Enter the display name and press 

.

Tip

• You can change the screen name and display name at 

any time.

• If necessary items for Messenger Settings are not set, 

the settings screen for the settings is displayed.

Starting a Conversation

Display the Online Contacts tab or the Group 
Conversations tab by

Select the display name or the group name you wish 
to send the message to.
The conversation dialogue window opens.

3.

Enter the message in the lower window and press 

.

When the message is sent, the message moves to the 
upper window.

4.

When your contact member replies, his or her 
message is displayed in the upper window.

5.

To continue the conversation, repeat steps 3 and 4.

Note

• You can enter up to 160 characters in each message 

that is sent.

• You can send messages even if contact members are 

not connected.
