The unit enters the menu select mode.

10. Start playback on the connected equipment.
Synchronous recording starts.
To interrupt playback:
When the connected equipment is stopped, the unit will be
paused in the synchronous recording mode. If the connected
equipment restarts playback, the unit will restart recording.
●
If no sound is output from the equipment for 3 seconds or
more, the recording will be paused automatically.

Long recording
2 times and 4 times long recording
2 times or 4 times long stereo recording is possible.
Monaural recording
You can make a recording in the monaural mode for twice as
long as in the stereo recording (SP).
A MiniDisc recorded in the monaural mode can be played back
at double speed.
1. While recording is paused, press the MODE button repeatedly
to select the recording mode.
SP (Stereo recording)

2. Start recording.

Creating track numbers automatically
[Analog recording]
1. Press the M button while recording is paused or recording.
The unit enters the menu select mode.

to select “M (MARK)”
and press it.

to select “A(AUTO)” and
press it.

Select the menu within 25 seconds.

If you press the CLEAR button during operation, the previous
display appears.

Auto mark “A(AUTO)”:
1 second or more silence allows to number tracks automatically.
Mark off “O(OFF)”:
Tracks are recorded as one track.
[Digital recording]
When recording from a CD or MiniDisc using the digital connec-
tion, track numbers will be created at the same points as on the
CD or MiniDisc (Synchro marker function).

Creating track numbers manually
You can create track numbers manually during recording.
Press the REC button once at the point where you want to cre-
ate a track number during recording.
The track numbers increase by one.

Note for digital recording
You cannot copy a MiniDisc that you recorded from digital in-
puts to another MiniDisc or DAT.
It is prevented by the SCMS (Serial Copy Management Sys-
tem). Recording from analog inputs is not affected.
RECORDING FROM A MICROPHONE (pages 51 – 56)
1. Insert a recordable MiniDisc.
2. Plug a microphone into the MIC IN jack on this unit.
3. Hold down the REC button for 2 seconds or more.
4. Press the GROUP button for 1 second or more to display
“GROUP”.
If you do not record tracks by the group, press the GROUP button
for 1 second or more to extinguish “GROUP”.
