Note: 1.
When receiving a repair request, explain that user data are
not recovered.
If recovery of user data is strongly requested, try to backup
only the PIM data without warranty.
(For the utility program, use one that is supplied from
Sharp.)
2.
Check that the program in the FLASH ROM is what was
released by Sharp.
(If the program has been modified by the user, it may be
out of warranty.)
3.
When the machine enters the diag mode, the user data
are destroyed.
When checking with the diag, be sure to confirm the user
whether the user data should be recovered or not in
advance.
If the user data should be recovered, back up the user
data before executing the diag operations.
1) Check the operation (with the
user's battery pack.)
Check the battery replacement
switch. Press the ON/OFF key.
2) Enter the diag mode and press
any key.
Does
operate.
Return to the user.
(Explain that the power is not
turned on with the battery
replacement switch at
REPLACE.)
Does not
operate.
Connect the AC adapter
and perform procedure 1).
Does operate or

Explain that the battery is
exhausted, and return to the

Open the set and check
the following:
No display and
no key sound
1) Check the voltage of each power source.
Is VCC3 normal?
VCC3=3.3V

0.3V
Is VCC5 normal?
VCC5=5V

0.5V
Is VCC-CORE normal?
VCC-CORE=1.8V
m
0.18V
2) Check for disconnection of the fuse in each power line.
Fuses to be checked: "F803" "F806" "F805" "F801"
Check conduction with a tester. (Be careful to avoid
contact between the tester probe and the parts.)
*3: Check the figure of AIN0 that is displayed on the lower side of the
diag menu.
If the figure is 1000 or greater, it might be considered that no
battery is inserted.
Replace the battery with new one.
