WARNING
1. Study, understand and follow all instructions
provided with this equipment prior to operation.
2. Failure to heed these warnings may result in
damage to the equipment, personal or fatal injury.
3. Prior to applying the load, be sure that the
hydraulic ram collar threads are fully engaged to
head assembly.
4. Do not exceed the rated capacity. Always use an
accurate pressure gauge to measure pressing
force.
5. Components of this press are specially designed
to withstand the rated capacity. Do not substitute
bolts, pins, or any other components.
6. Always apply the load on the center of the ram
plunger. Offset loads can damage the ram or ram
mount, and may cause a work piece to eject.
7. Before applying the load, be sure that all press
bed support pins are fully engaged, and the
hydraulic ram unit is fully threaded into the ram
mount.
8. Before operating, check for signs of cracked
welds, bent bed pins, loose or missing bolts, or
any other structural damage. Do not operate if any
of these conditions exist. Have repairs made only
by authorized service centers.
9. Remove all loads from the press bed before
attempting to adjust bed height. Be aware of
possible falling bed.
10. Press only on the work piece supported by the
press bed.
11. When using accessories, such as arbor plates,
be sure that they are centered on the press bed,
and are in full contact with the bed.
12. Parts being pressed may splinter, shatter or eject
from the press. Due to various applications, it is
your responsibility to always use adequate
guards, such as eye protection and heavy
protective clothing, when operating this press.
13. Keep hands and fingers out of the press and
away from parts that may shift and pinch.
14. Do not stand in front of work area where the load
is applied.
15. It is your responsibility to keep warning decal
legible and intact. Replacement decals may be
obtained from service centers.
INSPECTION
1. Visual inspection shall be made before each use
of the press, checking for leaking hydraulic fluid,
and damaged, loose or missing parts.
2. Each press, if subjected to an abnormal shock,
shall be inspected immediately by an authorized
OMEGA service center.
3. The owner and/or operator should be aware that
repair of this equipment may require specialized
knowledge and facilities. It is recommended that
an annual inspection of the press be made by an
authorized service center and that any defective
parts, decals or warning labels be replaced with
genuine OMEGA parts. A list of authorized
service centers is available upon request.
DAMAGED PRESS
Any press which appears to be damaged in any way,
is found to be badly worn, or operates abnormally
SHALL BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE
until
necessary repair is made by an authorized service
center.
OPERATION
Head Assembly - The head assembly is adjustable
horizontally. To adjust, loosen the bolts and position
head assembly while centering the load on the ram
plunger. After head assembly is positioned, the
bolts must be securely tightened.
MAINTENANCE
1. Periodically check the press frame to make sure
all screws are tight and inspect for cracked welds,
bent, loose, or missing parts.
2. If the paint becomes badly chipped, it is suggested
to repaint the press. This will prevent rusting.
3. Keep work area uncluttered and free of
unnecessary equipment.
4. Periodically check hydraulic connections for
possible leaks. Replace or properly repair
damaged or leaking hydraulic components before
use.
5. Change hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system every
100 working hours, or more frequently in unusual
dirty or dusty areas.
