Functional descriptions
Latching for alarm signals
The alarm signals of the operating unit are only active as long as the measured value is
outside the respective threshold value. In contrast the alarm signals of terminal module 2
remain active until they are deactivated with a switching input. A button is provided to this
purpose on the respective switching input (X30.2 + X30.15).
The alarm signals are automatically activated after each start-up until the operating unit
activates measuring mode. Afterwards the alarm signals must be manually reset. If
terminal module 2 is connected differently, it can be ensured that the main alarm is
automatically reset after start-up.
Switching principle of the relays
●
The switching outputs for alarms and malfunctions work in accordance with the closed-
circuit principle: The respective relay is activated (picked-up) as long as the switching
function (alarm/malfunction) is
not
activated. In the event of an alarm/malfunction the
relay is deactivated; in the event of mains failure and when switched off, “Alarm”/
“Malfunction” is signaled. The power supply is taken from the operating unit.
●
The “Calibration” switching output works in accordance with the open circuit principle:
The relay is activated (picked up) if the “Calibration” status is activated.
Safety circuit for alarm relay
The alarm signal is routed on terminal module 2 with two contacts of a safety relay
connected in series which are both positively driven with an NC contact. This prevents
deactivation of an alarm signal if a relay switching contact becomes stuck or welded.
Activated condition “Maintenance”
Terminal module 2 has its own “Maintenance” condition which can be activated with a
control input (X30.3–X30.16). Effect of the “Maintenance” condition:
●
The “Maintenance” switching output is activated on plug connector X30.
●
The “Measured value valid” signal is activated.
●
All switching outputs for maintenance and malfunction messages are deactivated
(however, the “Measured value” analog output continues to emit 2 mA in the event of a
malfunction).
●
The “Pre-alarm” switching output is deactivated (pre-alarm signal is suppressed).
●
The “Alarm” switching output is activated as soon as the operating unit activates the
alarm, but without latching (refer to
).
Lamp test function
A button can be connected to the “Lamp test” control input (X30.1 + X30.14) to test all
connected signal lamps. The relay condition of the terminal module is not changed during
the lamp test.
The lamp test signal can be forwarded to other terminal modules for joint lamp testing for
all terminal modules of a system: To this purpose connect terminal X10.7 or X10.8 of the
first terminal module to terminal X10.7 or X10.8 of the next terminal module etc.
(cascading wiring).
Circuit diagram of terminal module 2
●
Terminals X10.7 and X10.8 are internally bridged.
●
The “Lamp test” control input switches a photo-MOS relay. The button is
therefore not subjected to the load of the connected lamps.
●
The current relay status of the terminal module is not changed during the
lamp test.
