7.3
Replacing components
Faulty or damaged system components must be dismantled and replaced with new or
repaired components.
After a component has been replaced, the measurement site must be updated (see also
chapter
7.3.6 Updating the measurement site
DANGER
Disconnect the power to the plant

Make sure the power supply for the entire plant is disconnected throughout the entire
time that you are carrying out maintenance and repair work.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to electrical current
Only a qualified electrician or trained persons working under the guidance and
supervision of a qualified electrician are permitted to work on electrical plants or
equipment and must comply with electrical regulations when doing so.
NOTE
Claims under the warranty rendered void
Some of the housing screws on the devices are sealed.
Any claims against SICK AG under the warranty will be rendered void if the seals are
damaged or if the device is opened.
The housing must only be opened by authorized SICK service personnel.
7.3.1
Which system components can be exchanged?
TIC102
If a 2D LiDAR sensor or the Traffic Controller in a TIC102 is defective, the entire system
component must be exchanged. Replacing an individual 2D LiDAR sensor or the Traffic
Controller is not possible.
TIC501 / TIC502 / LMS Axle
The LMS511 2D LiDAR sensors mounted on the mounting plate can be replaced
separately. The entire component can also be replaced.
The TIC501 and LMS Axle 2D LiDAR sensors are replaced individually.
Replacement of the Traffic Controller mounted separately is possible.
