Mounting
5.1
Overview of mounting procedure
RFU63x-131xx (with internal antenna):
The procedure for mounting the device and, if applicable, external antennas is divided
into the following steps:
1.
Select a suitable mounting location for the device and, if applicable, external
antennas.
The mounting location and position depend on the following factors:
°
Identification task
°
Working range of the device (
see "Working range of the antenna (sensing
range of the reading and writing field)", page 20
) and, if applicable, external
antennas
°
Transponder used
°
Environmental influences
2.
Mount the device at the intended reading location and at a suitable distance from
the object with the transponder, then approximately align the device with the
object.
3.
If applicable, mount the additional external antenna(s) as required for the identifi‐
cation task and approximately align them also with the object.
4.
If required, mount the trigger sensor for object-specific triggering.
After the electrical installation is complete and while adjusting the device parameters to
suit the application:
5.
Finely
align the device and external antennas to the object and adjust them.
6.
Test for successful reading and writing in actual operation.
RFU63x-041xx (without internal antenna):
The procedure for mounting the device and external antennas is divided into the follow‐
ing steps:
1.
Select a suitable mounting location for the device and external antennas.
The mounting location and position depend on the following factors:
°
Identification task
°
Working range of the device (
see "Working range of the antenna (sensing
range of the reading and writing field)", page 20
) and external antennas
°
Transponder used
°
Environmental influences
2.
Depending on the selected cable lengths for the external antennas, mount the
device in the vicinity of the intended reading location.
3.
Mount the additional external antenna(s) as required for the identification task
and approximately align them with the object with the transponder.
4.
If required, mount the read-cycle sensor for object-specific triggering.
After the electrical installation is complete and while adjusting the device parameters to
suit the application:
5.
Finely
align the external antennas to the object and adjust them.
6.
Test for successful reading and writing in actual operation.
