The lump supplement for ground clearance under 120 mm is 150 mm. This supple‐
ment may be reduced further in individual cases. The actual supplement required
based on the ground clearance of the vehicle can be read from the following graph:

Protective field width
The width of the protective field must cover the width of the vehicle and take into
account the supplements for the measurement errors and the lack of ground clear‐
ance.
Calculate the protective field width S
B
using the following formula:
•
S
B
= F
B
+ 2 × (Z
G
+ Z
R
+ Z
F
)
where
•
F
B
= Vehicle width
•
Z
G
= General supplement = 100 mm
•
Z
R
= Supplement for a possible reflection-related measurement error of the safety
laser scanner
•
Z
F
= Supplement for a possible lack of ground clearance of the vehicle
NOTE
The S3000 is normally mounted in the middle of the vehicle. If this is not the case, the
protective field must be defined asymmetrically. The CDS displays the fields as they
appear in the topview of the safety laser scanner. There must be supplements on the
right and left of the vehicle.
