Operation
After all lines have been connected and all interfaces have been assigned the
frequency converter is ready for operation:
NOTICE
Wrong motor parameters
To avoid damage, you must ensure that all parameters are set correctly for oper‐
ating the device with the connected motor (also refer to SIEB & MEYER software
drivemaster2).
➮ Enable the power line.
➮ Switch on the possibly existing mains switch.
Does the frequency converter signal "ready for operation"?
Yes
No
▶
Select the characteristic curve.
▶
Enter a small reference speed value.
▶
Check all connections.
▶
Consider the troubleshooting infor‐
mation.
Are the direction of rotation and the speed value of the motor
correct?
Yes
No
Change direction of rotation:
▶
Exchange 2 optional motor
phases.
▶
Wire the control interface.
▶
Correct the reference value or the
speed value.
▶
Check the programming.
➮ Before starting the motor please check, whether the following requirements are
met:
─
The inputs for motor protection (PTC) and safety circuit are wired.
─
The logic supply (+24 V) is switched on.
─
The mains supply is switched on.
─
The frequency converter signals “Ready for operation”.
─
No error message was signaled.
If the described requirements are met, the motor can be accelerated by means of the
reference value, when the function “Start” (pulse enable) is selected. The acceleration
time can be set.
After reaching the reference frequency, the frequency converter signals “Target
reached” and the desired work process can be started.
During operation overloads and interferences may arise at the motor or at the
frequency converter. In this case either the electronic protection or the current limita‐
tion functions become active.
Setting a new reference value does not require to decelerate the motor to “Target 0”. A
new reference value can be processed at any time. However, the signal “Target
reached” is cleared during the adaptation time (time until the new reference speed is
reached).
The motor is decelerated via the function “Stop” or by clearing the reference value.
