2.5 User test (device test)
The tests according to EN 60079-17 can be carried out together with
the user test. The device must be taken out of operation if the test
results are negative.
Initialization
•
The three phase currents running through the 3RB3 must be as
symmetrical as possible.
•
The phase currents must be

•
The phase currents must be at least the same size as the value for
the lower setting mark of the current setting.
Test implementation
During the test all the protective functions are still active. The test is
initiated by pressing the TEST button (see device test in operating
instructions).
After the TEST button has been pressed, the device must trip within the
following time periods:
Test evaluation
The user test is considered to be carried out successfully if:
•
the device trips within the maximum permissible time limit and
•
contact 95-96 has opened (not welded shut).
