7.4.1.2 Running the Inverter
Set the desired frequency of the inverter in data bytes 3 and 4. Set the RUN/STOP bit to 1 and transmit the
message. The frequency in data bytes 3 and 4 has a resolution of 0.1, hence the value ‘400’ represents 40.0 Hz.
The desired frequency may be either an absolute value or a percentage of the maximum frequency. This is
determined by the ABSOLUTE/PERCENTAGE bit. e.g. In percentage mode ‘400’ represents 40.0% of the
maximum frequency.
The frequency at which the inverter is currently running is indicated in data bytes 3 and 4 of the reply message.
7.4.1.3 Reading Parameters
To read a parameter, set the parameter number in data bytes 1 and 2 and set the top three bits of data byte 2 to zero.
Transmit this message and the reply will contain the current setting of this parameter.
7.4.1.4 Writing Parameters
Set the parameter number in data bytes 1 and 2 and the parameter value in data bytes 7 and 8. Set the top three bits
of data byte 2 to ‘1 0 0’ and transmit the message.
The reply message will indicate the value to which the parameter has been set. If an error has occurred then this
will be indicated in the top three bits of data byte 2.
7.4.1.5 Clearing a Trip
When a trip occurs, it must be acknowledged before the inverter can be run again. To acknowledge the trip, send a
message with the TRIP ACKNOWLEDGE bit set to zero followed by a message with the TRIP ACKNOWLEDGE
bit set to 1.
The inverter will go into the LOCKED state once a trip has been acknowledged. The procedure described in section
7.4.1.1 must then be followed before the inverter can be run again.
7.4.1.6 Reading Fault Codes
Set the top three bits in data byte 2 to ‘0 1 0’ and transmit the message. The reply message will indicate the fault
code in data bytes 7 and 8.
7.4.1.7 Reading Current
Set the top three bits in data byte 2 to ‘0 0 1’ and transmit the message. The reply message will indicate the current
in data bytes 7 and 8. The current in data bytes 7 and 8 has a resolution of 0.1, hence the value ‘56’ represents 5.6
A.
