The following interfaces and connections are located on the device side (Figure 5):
Port 3
:
This fibre-optic interface serves for the connection of a second FO-Repeater via a remote
connection. Via this interface, serial signals are transmitted over the range of max. 4 km
to max. 170 km, depending on the option ordered. The connection to multimode fibre
(max. 4 km, max. 8 km) or singlemode fibre (max. 24 km, max 60 km, max 100 km, max.
170 km) is realized using duplex LC-connectors. The bidirectional FO-Repeater can
transmit the serial signals over a range of 40 km. The connection to the singlemode fibre
is done via single LC-connectors.
At the other end of the remote connection, a suitable protection interface module (FO17:
max 24 km, FO18: max. 60 km or FO19: max. 100 km) can be connected. These
protection interface modules are used in the SIPROTEC 4 protection devices 7SD52,
7SD610, 7SA6 and 7SA52 to provide a connection to singlemode fibres. They can be
connected on port D or port E (7SA52/7SD52 only). It has to be kept in mind that port 2
of the FO-Repeater must not be assigned in this device configuration. The bidirectional
repeaters do not work together with the FO modules.
Port 1 and 2
:
The two optical interfaces serve to connect protection communication channels and/or
remote control channels (e.g. via a binary signal transducer). Via these interfaces, serial
signals are transferred. Be aware that end devices connected to these ports are equipped
with 820 nm interfaces and the transmission rate is in the range of 300 bit/s to 1.5 Mbit/s
(multimode) or 300 bit/s to 4.096 Mbit/s (singlemode). The fibre-optic connection to port
1 and port 2 is provided via ST plugs. Via the serial inputs / outputs port 1 and port 2,
synchronous or asynchronous signals can be transmitted.
GOK (DR)
:
An isolated changeover contact is available as a DR interface, the three connections of
which are routed out on the device. The DR (
GOK
) connection symbol represents the rest
position of the contact (no voltage). The picked up DR relay has the following meaning:
The data transmission on the remote connection works correctly.
The power supply is OK.
The device works correctly.
Power supply
:
The auxiliary voltage must be applied at the 2-pole screw terminal
115 - 250VAC / 24 -
250VDC
. For permissible values and tolerances refer to the Technical Data (page 58).
Note:
The auxiliary voltage input has been designed with reverse polarity protection
so that the auxiliary voltage can be created with any polarity.
The earthing connection located above the screw terminal must be connected to the
protective earth (pe).
