Test condition
What is the pur-
pose of the 'Test
condition' oper-
ating mode?
The 'Test condition' operating mode allows the function of all automatic fire detectors and man-
ual call points to be tested individually on site without an alarm message being produced.
Automatic fire
detectors
Automatic fire detectors are activated with a special detector tester.
Inactive detectors are set to the special 'Test' parameter set to achieve fast activation with the
detector tester.
Manual call
point
Manual call points are activated depending on type:
·
From the outside without breaking the glass plate or opening the housing
·
By opening the door of the manual call point.
Alarm devices
The
active status
of automatic fire detectors or manual call points in 'Test condition' operating
mode is the test alarm. A test alarm
does not generate
a danger message on the terminal. This
means that neither acoustic alarm devices nor remote transmission functions are activated.
Test alarms are saved in the event memory and logged spontaneously if there is a printer con-
nected.
Recommenda-
tions regarding
test condition
·
Run function test on regular basis. The intervals between these tests are defined by the ser-
vice engineer.
·
Only ever set the fire detector of
one
SECTION to 'Test condition' operating mode, never the
entire building.
·
The function test for manual call points must be carried out randomly.
·
Automatic fire detectors and manual call points in the same room are alwaystested
separate-
ly
.
·
Never set these to 'Test condition' operating mode
at the same time
.
·
Once testing is complete, the 'Test condition' operating mode should be ended straightaway.
Test timeout
A timeout can be programmed for each zone. Once this lapses, the zone leaves 'Test' operating
mode and is reset to the previously set operating mode.
