Timeouts
What does this
mean?
A timeout is a particular, predefined time period,
·
after which a particular action is undertaken
- or -
·
which defines how long a particular status is to last.
What kinds of
timeouts are
there?
AlgoRex recognizes the following types of timeout on the terminal:
·
'Operation' timeout
·
'Background lighting' timeout
·
'Log-out' timeout
·
'Display result' timeout
How is the
timeout activat-
ed?
A timeout is activated with every manual operating process. If the timeout is still running, it is re-
started with every subsequent input.
'Operation'
timeout
Defines the delay time during which the system waits for an operating process before the cur-
rent message appears again.
This timeout can be configured for operation with and without pending alarms.
'Background
lighting' timeout
Defines the period for which the display background lighting remains lit after user input. This
timeout can be configured depending on the message category ('Alarm', 'Fault', 'Isolation',
'Informaion').
'Log-out'
timeout
Defines the delay time after the last user input after which the system automatically logs the us-
er out.
'Display result'
timeout
Defines the period for which the result of a query (e.g. reading information) is shown on the dis-
play.
How can the
timeouts
be
configured?
All the above timeouts cam be configured by the service engineer.
