4.8 Distance
The basic rule is that the distance of
25 m
between units should not be exceeded.
External interference will affect this negatively as will various materials in walls.
SR35i typically works over approximately 15-20 m and RF9 adds 20-25 m range
(see figure). Because a maximum of four RF9 can operate in a chain, theoretically
a Segment Controller could manage a door up to 20+25+25+25+25 = 120 m away.
Note that the unit at item 3 in the figure is on the margin to be reached by two RF9.
In this case the system always strives to find the best way.
In some applications this might be useful because better redundancy is achieved.
