8.2 Maintenance
Levels
8.2.1 Overview
For adjustments, repairs and maintenance work, the Colour Letter Scanner
and the surrounding area (machine) have to be put into a safe state regarding
occupational safety (Maintenance Level).
A defined Maintenance Level has to be assigned to each work step. For the
CLSC these are the Maintenance Levels 5, 6, or 7.
The specified Maintenance Level has to be established before commencing
work according to the detailed instructions in the following sections.
Note!
For specific safety procedures at CPC refer to the "lock-out - tag-out"
procedure as described in the respective document from CPC.
The CPC safety procedures have to be applied in combination or
addition to the Maintenance Levels described below.
8.2.2
Maintenance Level 5
Activating Maintenance Level 5:
Switching off the power supply to the Colour Letter Scanner and the
surrounding area
Note!
For additional safety procedures refer to the "lock-out - tag-out"
procedure as described in the respective document from CPC.

Stop the machine and secure it against accidental start-up.

If computers are to be disconnected from the power supply: Shut down
the computers.

Switch off the power supply to the Colour Letter Scanner and the
surrounding area (e.g. supply to the module) and secure it against
accidental start-up (e.g. lock the circuit breaker).
For details refer to the respective machine documentation or drawing.
Danger!
Further power supplies possible
Depending on the location, adjacent assemblies can still be live. For
example if uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) are available or if
assemblies are not powered via the central power supply.
Therefore, observe the circuit diagrams and familiarize yourself with
the power supplies.

Ensure that there is no voltage present at the power supply output and
your work place.
