Adjust the parameters by stepwise increasing or decreasing the values so that
the image of the CLSC matches the requirements for the image quality as
described in the documentation "Colour Letter Scanner CLSC3000,
Maintenance Instructions", chapter "Checking the Quality of Grey and
Colour Images with a Test Card".
−
Nominal transport speed
Set the value of that parameter according to the specific machine type.
Refer to the respective machine documentation.
−
Light barrier distance
Increase or decrease the value of that parameter so that the leading and
trailing edges of the mail item are fully visible in the image. A black
border of 1 or 2 mm ahead of the leading edge may be accepted.
For the physical distance between the scanner (face plate aperture) and
the light barrier refer to the respective machine documentation or
drawing.
−
Tachometer clock (encoder resolution)
Increase or decrease the value of that parameter so that the horizontal
resolution is 256 dpi ± 1%. This is achieved when the length of the 7 in.
long horizontal measuring arrow in the captured image of the scanner
test card corresponds to 1792 pixels ± 1%.
Carrying out white reference
A white reference calibration should be perfomed, if the image shows one or
several of the following effects:
−
Image of the scanner test card is too dark or very light (grey values for
white areas not in the range of about 230 to 250)
−
Horizontal streaks on the image
)
Carry out white reference (refer to documentation "Colour Letter
Scanner CLSC3000, Maintenance Instructions").
)
Record test card again.
The image should look as described in the documentation "Colour
Letter Scanner CLSC3000, Maintenance Instructions".
