2 Introduction
This manual includes information required to engineer and install RXB and RXL
plants, in particular:
–
Konnex bus
(physical specifications, topology)
–
Konnex accessories
(bus power, coupler)
–
Installation basics
(EMC, power lines, signal lines)
It applies to all Konnex bus compatible devices for the RXB and RXL product
ranges.
Information specific to a device is available in the corresponding data sheets.
2.1
Technical bus differences between
RXB and RXL
The RXB controllers are compatible with the DESIGO and Synco systems from
Siemens Building Technologies.
The communications component on the RXB controllers are based on Konnex
technology and support the S-mode and LTE mode. The devices are certified for
Konnex and are labeled with the KNX logo. Certifying their compatibility to other
Konnex products.
The RXL controllers are compatible with the DESIGO and Synco systems from
Siemens Building Technologies.
The hardware portion of the RXL controller communications component is based
on Konnex technology. The software communications component is proprietary,
however, and not disclosed.
As a result, there is NO compatibility to Konnex devices and the RXL controllers do
NOT
have the communications logo.
