Writing and editing text
When writing a text:

The cursor is controlled with

Characters are added to the left of the
cursor.

from the "Abc" mode (upper case:
1st letter upper case, all others lower
case) to "123", from "123" to "abc" and
from "abc" back to "Abc" . Press the star

The first letter of the name of directory
entries is automatically capitalised,
followed by lower case letters.
Editing text (without predictive text)
When you press a key
and hold it
, the
characters of that key appear in the
bottom display line
and are highlighted
one after the other. When you release the
key the highlighted character is inserted
into the input field.
You can see in the display whether upper
case, lower case or digits are selected:
u
"A" or "a" appears on the bottom display
line when you make an entry in the
directory.
u
"Abc", "abc" or "123" appears at the top
right of the screen when a text
message is entered.
Editing text (with predictive text)
The predictive text helps you to write
MMS, text messages and names in the
directory, speed dial list or email directory.
Every key between
Q
and
O
are
assigned several letters and characters
(see character set chart, page 61). These
appear in a
selection line
directly under
the text area (above the display keys) as
soon as you press a key. the letter you are
most
probably
looking for is
reverse
highlighted
and put at the beginning of
the selection line. It is transferred to the
text area.

If this letter is the one you want, confirm it
by pressing the next key. If the letter
selected by the EATONI is not the one you
want, then
briefly
press the
hash key

repeatedly until the required letter
appears reverse highlighted in the display
line and is transferred to the text area.

the characters assigned to the hash key in
the selection line.
