PC Interface
You can connect your SL 1 handset to a computer using a Siemens data cable
(page 104). Your computer can then communicate with your SL 1 using "Siemens Data
Suite" (free download available at http:\\www.my-siemens.com/gigaset-sds) and access
the following parameters and lists in the handset:

Data transfer
Some functions involve the transfer of large volumes of data between the handset and
the external device. In this case the handset switches to data transfer mode,

appears in the display. In this mode, you cannot make any entries via the keypad and
incoming calls are ignored.
In the following situations, the handset switches to data transfer mode:

Read/write access to the directory

Read/write access to the email directory

Read/write access to the network access list

Read/write access to the the appointments list

Read/write access to the last number redial list

Loading screensavers
◆
Loading melodies
If an error occurs during transfer, the handset automatically switches to idle status.
Making and accepting calls
If you dial a number from an external device or accept a call from one, the handset will
respond as if you had executed this function on the handset.
