Setting the answering machine of the SL 150
Base station
The answering machine has already been preset at the factory. However you can make
individual settings using the handset.
Ring delay and charge saving function for remote operation
You can set when you want the answering machine to activate. The options are:
0 sec.
,
after
10 sec.
,
20 sec.
(factory setting) or
30 sec.
Instead of a fixed ring delay you can
also use the
charge-saving
setting
Auto
. In this setting the answering machine acti-
vates
automatically
:

after 10 seconds if there are new messages;
◆
after 20 seconds if there are no new messages.
After around 15 seconds in remote operation you will know that there are no new mes-
sages (otherwise the answering machine would have already activated). There will be
no call charges if you hang up now.
Please remember:

Only ringer melodies 1-3 are the same as the call tones during a call.
With all ringer tones
the first
ringer tone
is suppressed
. You can cancel the suppression
of the first ringer tone (page 84).

Setting the recording time and recording quality
You can set the maximum length of a message and its recording quality. The recording
quality determines the total recording time of your answering machine.
The total recording time is up to 9 minutes in the
High Quality
setting and up to
15 minutes in the
Long Play
setting.
