Faxing with the PC
You can use your PC to send faxes via the base station if you have assigned the virtual
talk&surf fax modem to any fax application installed on your PC.
Setting up the fax console

Select the folder
Start > Programs > Accessories> Communications> Fax
.

Click the
Fax console
entry.
This opens the
fax configuration wizard

ì
Follow the wizard's instructions and enter the appropriate address data.

Close the fax configuration wizard with
Finish
.
This opens the
fax client console
.
ì
In the
Extras
menu, select
Configure fax
.
ì
Select the fax modem installed by talk&surf:
Softmodem Fax Class 1
.
ì
Confirm your selection with.
This complete fax console set-up.

Read the fax console online help if you want to use all the features of this fax appli-
cation with your base station.

You can only use the fax function if the fax and talk&surf CAPI driver com-
ponents have been properly installed.

The fax function set-up described here was tested on the fax console
application which comes supplied with Windows XP.

Remember to enter as fax number the telephone number that you have
assigned to your PC as Send and Receive MSN (e. g. Int40).

For fax operations, it is recommended to link the PCs to the base station
with a USB cable.
When sending faxes via a wireless connection, the signal speed may
cause problems with the fax transmission.
