WIRING

In compliance with UL-864, effective May 1, 1995,
all power limited fire protective signaling conduc-
tors must be separated a minimum of 1/4 inch from
all of the following items located within a control
panel:

• electric light
• power
• Class 1 or non-power limited fire protective

signaling conductors

To meet the above requirements, the following
guidelines must be observed when installing
modules and wiring to this control panel.

NOTE: If power-limited wiring is not used within

an MXL/MXLV enclosure, then the follow-
ing guidelines do not apply. In that case,
be sure to follow standard wiring practices.

FRONT DOOR

The front door is the main outer door for the
MLE-6 enclosure. The door is supplied
without filler plates for the three large
openings. To select the appropriate filler
plates for the three openings, follow the
information below.

• When visual indication of system

operation (LCD, LED, or printer) is
required,
 install clear panels, the MDL-1
lens, behind the appropriate door
openings.

• When visual indication of the system

operation is not required, install plain
blank panels, MDB-1s, behind the
appropriate door openings.

• When audio amplifiers such as the

EL-410C/D or ZAC-30 are used,
install the MDG-1 (MXL Door Venting
Grill) behind the appropriate door
openings.

• After determining which filler plates

are required, insert the appropriate
plates in the front door as shown in
Figure 3 using the hardware supplied.
