Wireless LAN
Which Wireless LAN can be used?
You will find this information on the Internet page www.siemens.com/mobic
How far does a Wireless LAN extend?
A Wireless LAN can extend approximately 30 to 100 m around an access point
depending on the architecture of the room and whether the card is operated in the
internal (IP65) PCMCIA or in the external PCMCIA slot.
What do I need to remember when changing the network connection
between the Ethernet RJ - 45 port and Wireless LAN (or other network
cards)?
Only one network port can be active at one time.
The installed network adapters are listed in Settings - > Control Panel - >
Network . Using Network Configuration and the Properties button, you can enter
the IP configuration in the IP Address properties page (specify an IP address
button) or you can activate or deactivate the network adapter (Disable network
driver button).
Note:
If you change, the previous adapter must be deactivated and the required adapter
activated!
If this has not already been done, the first time an adapter is activated, the IP and
name server configuration must be set (Name Server properties page).
This configuration is stored even if you deactivate the adapter and is then available
the next time you want to activate the adapter.
Following this, the device must be reset (network configuration, reset device
button).
