Note
"Multitag" and "Initial Q"
With EPC Class1 Gen2, you can use "InitQ" to specify the maximum number of
transponders that can be expected to be located in the measuring field at the same time so
that collisions can be prevented.
The following formula applies:
2
Initial Q value
= Number of expected transponders (corresponds to "Multitag").
It is important to note here that the length of a read cycle increases the higher the value of
Initial Q is. This value is calculated from the "Multitag" variable that is set by an "init_run"
command of the RF620R/RF630R readers. Note the following rule of thumb if you want to
optimize performance; the value should be as low as possible and as high as necessary.
The setting of "Multitag" can be found in the description of the "init_run" command for FB55
in the "RF620R/RF630R parameter assignment manual
(
http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/33287195
)".
The parameter settings in the "RSSI", "Power Ramp" and "Special" tabs are adopted in the
"Parameter" tab and if they are saved, they are also saved on the reader.
The following table shows the tabs of the software user interfaces that are affected by
changes to the parameters in the "Parameter" tab:
