Case a: Configuration unchanged / module replacement
If you have no requirements beyond what you had with the
previous CP (for example configuration limits), you do not
need to make changes in the configuration.
You only need to remember the following distinction during
commissioning:
•
If the option of storing the configuration data of the CP
on the CPU was selected for the CPU you are replacing,
when the CP starts up the configuration data is loaded
automatically from the CPU to the CP.
•
Otherwise, download the configuration data again from
your PG/PC to the CP.
Case b: Adapted configuration / upgrade
If you want to use the extended options of the new CP,
follow the steps below:
1.
Replace the previously configured CP with the new
module in STEP 7 / HW Config. You will find this in the
hardware catalog.
2.
Expand your configuration to suit your needs, for exam-
ple the connection configuration.
3.
Save, compile and load the configuration data to the
CPU or CP again.
Note
Note the following information on the module types listed in the table above:
**) With the current CP, note the changed number of possible connections and the smaller
PROFINET IO configuration limits as well as the omission of support for PROFINET CBA**).
**) If you replace a module, you will need to download the adapted configuration data to the
new module type using STEP 7. The procedure is therefore only possible as described in
"Case b / Adapted configuration".
***) If you replace the model, you will need to update the communications blocks to the latest
version.
7.4.3
Replacing a module without a programming device
General procedure
The configuration data of the CP is stored optionally on the CPU or CP. Replacing the CP
with a module of the same type (identical order number) without a PG is only possible if the
data is stored on the CPU.
