Description
With this command, you enable the "Probe address with ICMP Echo before offer" function.
The DHCP server checks whether or not the IPv4 address has already been assigned. If no
reply is received, the DHCP server can assign the IPv4 address.
Requirement
You are in the Global Configuration mode.
The command prompt is as follows:
cli(config)#
Syntax
Call the command without parameter assignment:
ip dhcp-server icmp-probe
Result
The function is enabled.
Further notes
You disable the function with the
no ip dhcp-server icmp-probe
command.
